Yuxiang (that literally means: “fish fragrance”) is a famous condiment in Chinese cuisine used to cook meat or vegetables. It seems to have originated in the Sichuan cuisine but has spread to other Chinese regional cuisines. Despite the meaning of “fish fragrance”, the seasoning does not contain seafood or fish.
